Reflexology

Reflexology, or zone therapy is an alternative medicine involving the physical act of applying pressure to the feet.  This is a practice involving stimulation through applying pressure to various
points and places on the feet. The various organs, nerves and glands in your body are connected to certain areas on the bottom of your feet such as the soles, toes and ankles.

The Reflexology Association of Canada defines reflexology as:

“A natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears and their referral areas within zone related areas, which correspond to every part, gland and organ of the body. Through application of pressure on these reflexes without the use of tools, crèmes or lotions, the feet being the primary area of application, reflexology relieves tension, improves circulation and helps promote the natural function of the related areas of the body.”

A treatment cleanses the body of toxins and impurities. It revitalizes our energy
both physically and mentally as energy circulates consciously and unconsciously throughout our system. When the body is well balanced it is in great shape and can more easily ward off any illnesses. Energy needs to be revitalized periodically. Reflexology is a great therapy to use as preventative health care.

Working or stimulating reflex points in the foot carries through the whole length of the body. This creates increased blood flow, circulation and oxygen to all of the cells in your body. Remember, feeling good is contagious. By reducing tensions and enabling the mind to relax we are able to be more creative, productive and work with more clarity at difficult tasks. Reflexology is the key to renewed vitality
